How to help a User Apply for Accreditation for Foreign Media.

This service allows foreign media to apply and pay for accreditation in order to exercise their profession of journalism in Rwanda. This service is provided by the Rwanda Media Commission (RMC) through IremboGov.

  • Who is eligible to apply for this service?

  • Rwandan correspondents, 

  • EAC journalists and 

  • Foreign journalists. 

  • Key information to note before applying

  • Rwandan correspondents should have a national ID number, while foreign journalists should have a valid passport number.

  • Required attachments are;

    •  A passport-size photo 

    • A photocopy of a press card or service card,

    • Application letter from a media house 

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.


Note: All attachments must be in JPG format and no larger than 1000KB.

  • Follow these simple steps to help an applicant request this service: 

  • Next Steps after Submitting the Application
  • After you have applied and the user has paid successfully via IremboGov, they will receive a notification via SMS and/or email to confirm their payment.

  • The application will then be sent to the Rwanda Media Commission for processing.

  • Once reviewed and approved by a Rwanda Media Commission officer, your e-Accreditation badge will be sent to you via email.
