How to help a User Apply for a Slaughterhouse License.

This service allows slaughterhouse business operators to register and obtain an operating license from the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA). RICA will conduct a field visit to ensure the premises are compliant with RICA standards and regulations.

The processing time is 5 days, and the service is free of charge.

Prerequisites

• A company or an individual must have a Tax Identification Number (TIN).

Required attachments (6)

• Business Registration Certificate from RDB.

• A copy of the lease agreement if the operator is not the owner.

• Notarized copies of the registration certificate and operational license from the Rwanda Council of Veterinary Doctors for the veterinarians of the abattoir.

• Notified copies of the academic degrees of the staff (University degree in Veterinary Medicine or Animal health for Medium and Large Size Slaughterhouses, veterinary technician(s) for small-size slaughterhouses) in charge of slaughterhouse operations, including slaughter activities, meat inspections, and veterinary hygiene and sanitation.

• A letter of authorization for meat inspectors was issued by RICA.

• Passport copy

• A copy of the slaughterhouse registration certificate issued by RICA.

Follow these simple steps to help a User apply for a Slaughterhouse License:

• Verify that the information is accurate, enter a phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click "Submit."

• An application number (C2…...) to track the application status.

Note: 

• Upon successful submission, the application will be processed by RICA. Applicants will receive an email or SMS notification about any changes in the application status.

• Once the processing officers receive and approve the application, the applicant will receive their e-certificate via email or can download it on IremboGov.
