This service allows a business operating a milk collection center to register itself and comply with the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA) regulations. This registration certificate is then used to obtain an operating license.
The processing time is 14 days, and the service is free of charge.
Prerequisites
A company or an individual must have a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Location Requirements
A milk collection center must be wall-fenced with at least a 2 m high fence.
A milk collection center must be at least 2 kilometers away from a public waste disposal area.
A milk collection center must be at least 500 meters away from industries emitting pollutants.
A milk collection center must be in a plot of at least 300 square meters
A milk collection center must have access to a three-phase power line
A milk collection center must have access to portable water
Must comply with layout, design, and structure requirements.
Required attachments
Copy of premises ownership permits or a copy of the lease agreement
Approval from the district office that the MCC/MAP is allowed to operate in the given area
List of personnel and their medical certificates
Proof of access to 3-phase power lines from Rwanda Energy Group(REG)
Proof of access to potable water from the Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC)
Business Registration certificate from RDB

Copy of the latest RICA Registration certificate

An application number (C2…...) to track the application status.
Note:
Upon successful submission, the application will be processed by RICA. Applicants will receive an email or SMS notification about any changes in the application status.
Once the processing officers approve the application, the applicant will receive their e-certificate via email or can download it on the IremboGov platform.
